good morning happy snowy Wednesday to everybody today in math we're doing a section that has to do with measures around a circle K so if we have a circle and I'm sorry if mine isn't perfect we have a circle we know that it is 360° all the way around is 360° okay we're going to try and find angle measures so some of the basics that we already know are things like straight angles and right angles my circle and I cut it straight down and I have an angle right here it would be 180 degrees okay if I take that same sir and I split it in half so now I have four parts each of these angles is going to be 90° and that is split into fourths 1/4 1/4 1/4 and 1/4 okay that's what that would look like using fractions but if I wanted to say my 360 degrees and I split the atom in itself is down here sorry can I split that into 6 equal pieces what was 36/6 be well that would be 6 / 360 / 6 with a 60 so if I put this into six equal pieces I would have 60 degrees if I have 360 degrees and I cut him in the fourth well 36 / is nine zero on to the end of it each one is going to be worth 90° you can do that with any fraction of a circle as long as you split it in two piece fractions you can take 360 fractions and get your degree measure for any fraction the videos online do a wonderful job of explaining it the first video that we normally I'm the lady talks about dividing it in fractions and how that works the great video to use the next video that we normally watch which has the pausing points are you going to stop and try it on your own they're going to do the same thing they're just going to tell you how to divide it by a fraction or turn the circle into fractions and divide those numbers if you have any questions again please feel free to email me I'll be on my email all play today there will be a point later this afternoon will be doing work with my kids so if I don't answer you right about right away I apologize but I will get back to you today for sure the other homework from your due today if possible many students have found out that taking a picture of their homework page and then emailing it to me is fine or do the work on the email and just send me your email what I mean by that is just numbered and then type in your can you email me that as well because we want to make this as easy as possible for you so that not everyone is having a big headache by the end of the day and I will talk to you soon have a good day

Good Morning. This is a bit of a description for today. I added IXL 4.W.4 to the list of items to work on. For those that did not finish the math work, let's have it due by Wednesday. I will also asign new math work for Wednesday tomorrow morning. It will be due by Friday.

Also, please try and get your SD Animal powerpoint emailed to me by Friday, if you have not done so already.

Good morning everyone!!!

I have a virtual meeting at 9:00 this morning with the other teachers, so if I don’t get to your emails right away, I should be able to afterwards.

A few things for today:

Vocab and Spelling due.
If you have not gotten your SD Animal Powerpoint done, they need to be turned in ASAP (Today would be great).

Hopefully you can get the social studies reading done, the videos, though they are blocked on your school computer, are a good match to the readings and we have done the videos every year in the classroom, bummer we can’t this year.

Math:
I am going to assign the pearson quick checks from section 15.1 and 15.2, I am also going to send you to this link. It’s called Alien Angles and we used to play this game everyday in class for a week. We used to have a competition to see who could get 10/10 with no protractors or markers or tools to help. Try it. The angle measures don’t have to be perfect, you can be off by no more that 5 degrees. Let me know how you do!!!
