My name is Mrs. O'Brien, I am in my 3rd year of teaching in Hill City. I previously taught 10 years in Wyoming (Intensive Education, Special Education and Regular Education all at the Middle School Level) before moving back to the Black Hills. I also coached Middle School Volleyball for 4 years while in Wyoming. I have my Bachelors degrees in Elementary Education and Special Education from BHSU and my Master's Degree in Middle Level Mathematics.
I am looking forward to beginning my 1st year back in Special Education (3rd-5th grades). I believe that each student has unique learning styles and I enjoy getting to know each student, finding their strengths and helping them become the best learner they can be. Working with both students and parents is important to a student's success, I feel it is a necessity to keep in touch with parents regarding their student and their successes or needs.
My husband (Mr. O'Brien-4th grade) and I have triplets who keep us running and on our toes. We are loving being parents to multiples. In our free time we enjoy being outdoors, camping, playing softball and volleyball, watching baseball, college football, hockey and traveling. We like to watch the Minnesota Vikings, Twins and Wild, Nebraska Huskers and Creighton Bluejays. I was born and raised in Hill City and we are excited to be back in the Black Hills to raise our kids.
