Dear Parents and Guardians,

Hello!  I am writing to welcome you and your student to fifth grade at Hill City Elementary.  I would like to take this time to introduce myself.  I have lived in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota most of my life.  After high school, I attended SDSU where I studied Wellness Administration and dance.  My life became a whirlwind of adventure when I met and married my husband of 27 years, Steve.  Our lives are filled with love of the outdoors, travel to the mountains, and enjoying our dog, Noki.

                I received my Elementary Education degree from BHSU in 2001.  I have spent 22 years working with upper elementary students.  It brings me great joy to teach every day.  My approach to life and teaching is to be kind and optimistic.  I hope you see this in my interactions with you and your student.  I’m looking forward to a wonderful year!

                Together, we can provide an environment that enhances your child’s learning experience.  With mutual respect and continued efforts through frequent communication, your child should grow both academically and personally this school year.
