About Miss Schmidt
Hello!
My name is Faye Schmidt, and I am a fifth grade teacher here in Hill City. I moved to the Black Hills in the summer of 2021, and have been teaching here since. Previously, I taught fifth grade for two years at Sioux Valley Elementary in Volga, SD.
I grew up in the small town of Buffalo Lake, Minnesota. In high school, I was active in sports, band, Student Council, and National Honor Society. After graduation, I attended South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD, majoring in Early Childhood Education. I graduated in the Spring of 2019, with my degree in ECE and an additional endorsement in Elementary Education (K-8) from Dakota State University of Madison, SD.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I travel as often as I can, and love spending time outdoors. I also have a three-year-old Corgi named Hazel, and we feel so grateful to live in such a beautiful place, where we can go hiking and fishing often.
